Cassidy Turbin

At only 14, having already acquired a well-rounded musical style, Cassidy was accepted to the renowned New York, Drummer's Collective, being introduced to many more styles of drumming and learning from some of the finest they have there in their Manhattan school. From there he returned home to Florida and started private lessons with teacher David Via (Dizzy Gelespie) at Jeff Berlin's Players School of Music.

At age 17 he headed back to his birth place, Los Angeles to join rock group, Canon, which at the time was without a drummer.

Arriving in Los Angeles he naturally took to the surf and also became an avid mountain biker and even dabbled in rock climbing, while pursuing his 1st love, Music.

Still looking for more he hooked into the Hollywood's Musician's Institute (MI) program. Mid 2005 he finished the MI journeyman program after studying with jazz great Chuck Flores (Woody Herman).

He now is exploring greater avenues of music and furthering his abilities on the drums as well as the sax, flute and clarinet.

Cassidy has played/recorded with jazz guitarist Greg Smith, The Traction Ave. Chamber Orchestra, Canon, The Jazz Anarchists, Pianist Suezanne Fordham, Saxophonist Bob Carr, as well as many others including his own jazz group, the Cassidy Turbin Quartet.

He worked under Producer/Music Director Justin Meldal Johnson (IamRobot, Beck, Macy Gray, 9 Inch Nails) in 2006 while recording a full-length album at Hollywood's Sound Factory.

On Saxophone he currently plays with the Half Nelson Jazz Quartet, Pianist Suezenne Fordham's New Orbits, as well as the occasional jazz big band jazz ensemble.

He continues to be seen around town playing for many Jazz groups and gigs with his rock group Canon as well as his own Jazz Quartet.

Cassidy also devotes a good amount of time teaching Drums and Woodwinds at the Turbin Brothers School of Music, which he also runs.

His musical influences are (but of course are not limited to) Radiohead, Miles Davis, Tom Waits, 40's, 50's and 60's Jazz, Clifford Brown, etc...

Jason Turbin

Jason's interest in music and entertainment begun at the age of 6, with cowboy boots and guitar in hand, left-handed at that time. He began strumming and singing his own inventive tunes.

At 8 years old Jason found that not only could he sing but also he could act and dance and so he break danced at Venice Beach and earned his first paid dancing gig. This talent grew and led to several major performances including Disney Teachers Awards and several national commercials.

He continued his performing on stage playing Gavroche in Les Miserable and was a most notably a regular on the Fox TV comedy series The Edge, with Jennifer Aniston, Julie Brown, Kevin Nealon and Wayne Knight. Jason also has played characters in other TV shows.

Jason's Rock band, Canon, released it debut album Alive (111 Records, produced by Justin Medal Johnson [Beck, Nine-inch Nails, Macy Gray]), to rave reviews in 2008 and Canon can be heard around the West Coast when on tour or regularly in the Greater Los Angeles area. Besides being the song writer/singer/keyboardist for Canon he also plays violin and or flute in Traction Avenue Chamber Orchestra in the Los Angeles area.
